The Wall Street Journal will release its New York edition next week, and could go head-to-head with the New York Times in one key demographic: women. The Journal's daily readership is 62.3% men and 37.7% women, whereas the Times' male-to-female readership is nearly half and half. The Journal has reached out to women readers before, and the branding and advertising being used with the launch of the New York edition may show that the paper will aim at they city's women.
